April 12, 2025, the Aubrey Mitsch Foundation proudly celebrated a major milestone—our very first cadre of motorcyclists successfully completed the Motorcyclist-Centric First Aid Training Course. This program is designed to equip riders with the critical skills and confidence needed to respond effectively to emergencies on the road.
Motorcycles are a common and beloved mode of transportation, but when accidents happen, the seconds and minutes before emergency services arrive can make the difference between life and death. By ensuring riders are prepared to assist in accident situations, we can dramatically improve survival rates and reduce the severity of injuries.
To reinforce the skills taught, each participant receives a fully stocked trauma kit as part of the course—an essential tool that enables them to act quickly and effectively when it matters most.
Our 2025 Goal:
We set an ambitious goal to train 25 motorcyclists this year, recognizing that the number of people we can reach depends on our ability to raise the funds needed to cover course and kit costs. We’re thrilled to have trained our first 9 riders and are looking forward to expanding this impact throughout the year.
About the Course
This full-service blended learning program includes:
4-hour self-paced online module to build foundational knowledge.
7.5-hour in-classroom skills session to practice and master life-saving techniques.
Course Content (American Red Cross Certified):
Adult & Pediatric First Aid – Recognizing and responding to common sudden illnesses such as seizures, strokes, allergic reactions, poisoning, and diabetic emergencies.
CPR/AED – Responding to cardiac and breathing emergencies.
Life-Threatening Bleeding & Tourniquet Application – Stopping severe bleeding quickly and effectively.
Head, Neck, Muscle, Bone & Joint Injuries with Splinting – Stabilizing injuries until professional help arrives.
The completion of our first course marks an exciting step toward a safer riding community—one where motorcyclists are not just riders, but also trained responders ready to save lives.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Service Credit Union and Aces and Eights Casino for their generous support. Their commitment to rider safety made this training possible and helped us take a meaningful step toward building a safer, more prepared motorcycling community.
